Dave, I wanted to take a moment and thank you and your band for playing at our wedding. We had such a blast with you guys and our guests had nothing but great things to say. Sincerely, Ross and Marci Wayman I booked Groove Train first in 2005 for the 6th annual Juneteenth Celebration event in Williamsport. It rained cats and dogs on their equipment. As a testament to their good nature they came back to perform at our 10th annual event. I don't know what took us so long to invite them back. Maybe I was afraid Dave wouldn't want to return. With a promise from us to cover their equipment in the event of a downpour, they did come back in 2009, with a vengeance. "This band is tight" was the comment I heard most often. Groove Train took us back to the times when people really moved to the beat and enjoyed fun music. The instrumentals were perfectly in sync. They all have a good time performing and that is revealed in their sound. You can either close your eyes and travel back to the first time you heard a song or open them to enjoy watching the band jam with one another. Both ways make you want to sing along, move your body, clap your hands, stomp your feet and most of all smile. I am hoping they come back to perform at Juneteenth Celebration 2010. Listened to them on the Internet and then went over to Pittston to listen to them live. Knew right there and then they were the band for us. Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has put together a Mistletoe Ball for 68 years. The last few years we’ve had trouble finding the right band. We have a mixture of ages from 35 to 75. They played the right mix for everyone. They followed all instructions. Had piped soft music during dinner so people could talk. When the dancing started the volume was just perfect. That in itself is unusual. Grove Train was on time and dressed in tuxedoes to match a formal dinner/dance. They kept everyone dancing. If you did not attend and participate in First Night Scranton 2008 this year you missed a fabulous time. My son and his girlfriend and my life partner and I attended the event and we were impressed with the music, the magic, the performances and performers and the food...it "was all good!" We were able to enjoy the magical mastery of Damian the Magician. It was a delightful hour of magic, music, and humor. The band was everything we wanted - lively, vibrant, in-tune and got people dancing all night long. Song selection was great, and they even learned the song to our first dance - exactly timed to the recorded version - so that our choreography matched what we practiced to. Also Dave Chaump MC'd for us, and he did an excellent job, following the order of the reception very well, with smooth and eloquent transitions. We *highly* recommend Groove Train!!! We stumbled upon Groove Train in our search for a wedding band. We saw them at Victoria Inn in Pittston and really loved their style of music and the vocals of the various singers. I had the pleasure to have Groove Train perform at St. Mary's 2007 Church Picnic and they did an excellent job with their varied selection of songs for all age groups and also their dynamic stage presence. One thing that really stood out for me was that their one hour sets actually contained about 59 minutes of music...in other words they kept the music flowing non-stop without some of the akward downtime that you see from other bands. Erica & Greg Grimm Groove Train has been performing at Victoria Inns since August of 2004 and since then their crowds (and the cash register receipts) have kept growing. They are now one of my top-drawing bands and I am thrilled to have them on a monthly rotation. They always pack the dance floor and really know how to work the crowd. We draw a varied crowd from 25-65 and Groove Train always manages to please everyone. We were not going to have any music, but my father said it wasn't a good idea. So he decided to look for a band or DJ. We told him to to what he wanted. He just happened to becoming down the street where he lives and saw a sign in the window advertising GROOVE TRAIN, so he decided to call and get more information. He then called us and gave us their web site where you can listen to a demo of the band. They sounded really great. So we booked them.
